Dr. Dexter Page

Dr. Dexter M. Page, MD, FACOG is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Page received his medical degree in 1989 from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. He completed his OB/GYN residency at Harlem Hospital Center in New York City, in 1993, and his fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrical Sonography in 1995 at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Page has earned a reputation among his peers as a dedicated physician and instructor involved in resident education at multiple Atlanta area hospitals. Through Atlanta Perinatal Associates, Dr. Page is available for consultations from physicians to address the many emotional and complex issues associated with a high risk pregnancy. At present, Dr. Page is involved in various studies involving fetal growth development and physiology through the application of ultrasound science. As a member of various committees for many manage care plans, Dr. Page hopes to ensure that the medical and ethical standards for patient care by Atlanta Perinatal Associates is without compromise.


 

Dr. Chukwuma OnyeijeDr. Chukwuma I. Onyeije, MD is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Onyeije received his medical degree in 1992 from the Howard University College of Medicine after graduating with honors from the Howard University College of Liberal Arts in 1988. He completed his OB/GYN residency at Harlem Hospital Center in New York City, in 1996, and his fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrical Sonography in 1998 at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He was Assistant Professor of OB/GYN and Director of the Perinatal Services at the North Central Bronx Hospital from 1998 to 1999. Most recently he has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of OB/GYN at New York University School of Medicine and the Director of Resident Education at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, New York. During his four years at Lenox Hill Hospital Dr. Onyeije developed a large private practice consisting of high-risk pregnant patients. Dr. Onyeije has published articles, book chapters, and internet presentations on obstetrical sonography and pregnancy complications. He is presently involved in studies involving new techniques to diagnose and treat fetal distress. He is a diplomat of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the National Medical Association (NMA), and the Society for Gynecologic Investigation.


 

Dr. Robert JacobsonDr. Robert Jacobson, MD, FACOG was born and raised in New York City. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fordham University (1977) and Magna Cum Laude from The Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel (1981). After completing his residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center (NY, NY - 1985), he entered the US Army and spent 4 years providing OB/GYN services at Ireland Army Hospital, Ft. Knox, KY. After completing his Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center (1989), he became an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston Texas. It is there that he became a Principal Investigator for the AIDS Clinical Trials Group 076 study of AZT in Pregnancy which revolutionized health care for pregnant women with HIV infection. He then relocated to Ohio joining the OB/GYN Department at the Medical College of Ohio where he achieved the rank of Associate Professor. He comes to Atlanta Perinatal Associates, Inc. after spending seven years in hospital based practice in Texas.

 


 

Dr. Alan NeumanDr. Alan Neuman, MD, FACOG is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Neuman graduated Magna Cum Laude at Texas A&M University. He received his medical degree at Texas Tech University and then completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago. He spent several years practicing general obstetrics and gynecology before pursuing a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa. There he had the opportunity to train with a world renowned fetal surgeon. Dr. Neuman also had the opportunity to collaborate on research in congenital heart disease with a world renowned pediatric cardiologist. He has published articles on fetal electrocardiography and is currently involved with research on folate auto antibodies and congenital heart disease.

 

 


 

Ms. Shandareda MelvinMs. Shandareda Melvin, PA is a Board Certified Physician Assistant. Ms. Melvin graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelors of Science in Biology degree in 2001. She also received a Masters of Medical Science and as a Physician Assistant from Nova Southeastern University in Florida in September 2005. For five years she worked as a Women and Children Case Manager, providing gynecological care, counseling and locating stable housing and child care for single mothers at the I.M. Sultzbacher Center for the Homeless and the Mental Health center of Jacksonville Fla. She is an active member of AAPA (American Association of Physicians Assistants). Her passion is providing quality healthcare to all types of patients in the general community.
